To be fair, the original 1960s TV series it was based on wasn't a critical success either. Nevertheless, the film and series were commercial successes, and both are considered cult classics today. Netflix even created a reimagining of the original series back in 2018 that ran for three seasons.If you enjoyed the Netflix series but haven't watched the film, the new 4K Blu-ray edition should be the best way to watch it going forward.
