Ex-Brass Lion lead Osama Dorias co-founds new indie studio

Newsbrief: Former Brass Lion Entertainment lead gameplay designer Osama Dorias has announced HeartLoop Games, a new independent studio based in Montreal, Canada. Dorias is acting as creative director alongside strategy and product directorElaine Gusella, and two other co-founders. The team is working on a single-player roguelike fighting game named Poly Fighter, which aims to blend an old-school arcade feel with modern roguelike influences. It's currently slated to release on PC."Our approach is simple: build things step-by-step, share them with players early, and stay flexible so the game can evolve into the best version of itself," reads the press release.Back in April, Brass Lion Entertainment laid off at least 13 employees after making the decision to "realign" its workforce. After this, Dorias parted ways with the studio."Brass Lion Entertainment has made the difficult decision to reduce our team size as we realign our team around the strategy for the action-RPG we have in development," read a statement at the time. "Unfortunately, that means that we aren't able to keep on several talented developers who have contributed greatly to our project and studio culture."You can learn more about the new studio on the official site.Related:
